1. Purpose of This Document
This Challenge Rules & Scoring Framework describes the structure, requirements, evidence standards, verification processes, and scoring methodology used for all Motiw8 challenges, including:
- Weight-Loss Challenges
- Steps Challenges
- Premium Evaluation Challenges
- Group and Solo Challenges
This document forms an appendix to the Motiw8 Terms & Conditions and is legally binding for all users.
2. Challenge Lifecycle Overview
Every challenge progresses through the following lifecycle:
- Challenge Creation
- Participant Enrollment
- Stake Payment

- Active Challenge Period
- Weekly Check-Ins (optional)
- Final Submission
- Verification & Anti-Cheat Screening
- Scoring
- Ranking
- Payout Distribution

Motiw8 may modify challenge formats to maintain fairness and prevent abuse.
3. Challenge Eligibility Requirements
3.1 Minimum Age
Only individuals aged 18 years or older may participate in any challenge with stakes, payouts, or any financial element.
3.2 Health Requirements
Users represent and warrant that:
- They are medically able to participate.
- They are not pregnant or recently postpartum (≤ 6 months).
- They have no medical conditions that contraindicate rapid weight loss or increased activity.
- They have consulted with a healthcare professional if required.
3.3 Geographic Eligibility
Challenges are open to all international users, except:
- Where prohibited by local law,
- Where payment processors restrict payout operations.
3.4 Prize Payouts
To receive prize payouts, winners must complete Stripe Connect account setup (onboarding) as described in the Stakes & Payouts Policy and Terms & Conditions.
4. Baseline Submission Requirements
4.1 Mandatory for All Weight-Loss Challenges
Participants must submit:
- A scale close-up photo (scale display readable)
- A full-body photo standing on the scale
- A timestamp screenshot showing today's date
- A verification video (if required by challenge type)
- A face liveness check (if stake ≥ €50 / $50)
4.2 Submission Window
Baseline must be submitted:
- No earlier than 48 hours before challenge start
- No later than the challenge start time
Late baselines → user not eligible.
4.3 Premium Verification - Lab Body Composition Tests
For premium challenges that require body fat percentage verification:
- Same Laboratory Requirement: Baseline and final body-fat tests must come from the same certified laboratory using the same measurement method.
- Official Lab Report Required: The report must be an official laboratory document that includes:
- Full name of the user
- Date of the test
- Laboratory name and contact information
- Measured fat percentage
- Photo/Scan Format: The submitted proof must be a scanned or photographed official laboratory report that is legible and unaltered.
- Same Laboratory Definition: "Same laboratory" means the same facility at the same physical location. Different branches or locations of the same chain are not considered the same laboratory.
Home smart-scale results are not accepted for premium body fat percentage challenges.
5. Weekly Check-Ins
5.1 Optional
Weekly check-ins are optional unless specified by challenge rules.
5.2 Benefits
Completing weekly check-ins awards:
- 0.1% scoring bonus per check-in
- Maximum 1% bonus across the challenge
5.3 Evidence Requirements
Weekly check-ins may require:
- Weight entry
- Optional proof photo (depending on challenge type)
6. Final Submission Requirements
6.1 Mandatory
Final submission includes:
- Full-body photo
- Scale close-up
- Timestamp screenshot
- Verification video (required for all high-stakes challenges)
- Liveness detection (stake ≥ €50 / $50)
6.2 Deadline
Final submissions must be submitted by 23:59:59 in the user's local time zone on the final day of the challenge.
Late submissions → automatically marked as "DNQ" (Did Not Qualify).
7. Verification Procedures
Verification includes automated and manual review.
7.1 Automated Verification
Performed using:
- AWS Rekognition OCR
- Face Liveness
- CompareFaces
- Moderation labels
- Duplicate detection
- Metadata analysis
- Weight OCR extraction
- Timestamp OCR
7.2 Manual Verification
Performed when:
- AI flags abnormalities
- Evidence is borderline or unclear
- User files an appeal
- Risk score exceeds threshold
7.3 Verification Statuses
- Approved
- Rejected
- In Review
- Needs Resubmission
- Disqualified
- DNQ (Did Not Qualify)
- Fraud / Abuse Confirmed
7.4 Laboratory Verification
For premium challenges requiring lab documents, Motiw8 may contact the issuing laboratory to verify:
- That the report corresponds to the user and has not been falsified
- That the participant's identity matches the name on the report
- That the laboratory is legitimate and the report is authentic
By participating in a premium challenge that requires lab documents, you consent to Motiw8 contacting the issuing laboratory for verification purposes. The scope of this contact is limited to verification only—we will not request broader medical records or information beyond what is necessary to confirm the authenticity and identity verification of the submitted document.
If you refuse to provide consent for lab verification or if verification fails, Motiw8 may disqualify you from the challenge and award the prize to the next eligible, verified participant.
8. Scoring Framework (Weight-Loss Challenges)
8.1 Weight Loss Calculation
Weight loss is calculated as:
(Baseline Weight − Final Weight) ÷ Baseline Weight × 100
Rounded to three decimals.
8.2 Bonus Points
- Weekly Check-ins: +0.1% each (max 1%)
- Premium Consistency Bonus: Up to +3%
8.3 Penalties
- Missing required proof: −100%
- Failed liveness: automatic DQ
- Inconsistent data: −50% to −100%
8.4 Premium Evaluation Scoring
Premium competitions use extra rules:
- Day-to-day consistency
- No extreme drops
- Trend smoothing
- No negative trends unless justified
- Hydration drop detection
- Sleep and step integration (optional future feature)
9. Scoring Framework (Steps Challenges)
9.1 Daily Steps Calculation

- Apple HealthKit
- Google Fit
- Garmin
- Fitbit
- Strava
Manual entries NOT allowed
9.2 Scoring Options
- Total steps
- Active time
- % improvement over personal baseline
- Hybrid scoring (steps + consistency)
9.3 Penalties
- Unrealistic spikes
- Device mismatch
- Sudden step bursts (20,000 in 5 minutes)
- Missing daily data
10. Ranking Rules
10.1 Preliminary Ranking
Generated after automated verification.
10.2 Final Ranking
Generated after manual review and fraud screening.
10.3 Ties
Ties resolved by:
- Lowest weight at finish
- Highest consistency score
- Earliest submission
11. Disqualification Conditions
User may be disqualified if:
- Evidence manipulated
- Metadata inconsistent
- Photos reused
- Videos edited
- Wrong date shown
- Using someone else's body/scale
- Using artificially manipulated weights
- Hydration manipulation
- Extreme weight loss unsafe or suspicious
- Liveness check failure
- Failing KYC for payouts
- Failure to provide lab documents from the same laboratory for baseline and final submissions (premium challenges)
- Refusal to consent to lab verification contact
- Lab verification failure or falsification of lab documents
12. Appeals
Users may appeal:
- Baseline decision
- Final decision
- Disqualification
Appeals must be submitted within 72 hours after finalization.
Final decisions after appeal are binding.
13. Amendments
Motiw8 may adjust rules to improve fairness and prevent fraud. All changes apply prospectively.
