1. Introduction
This Evidence Submission & Media Processing Policy ("Policy") provides a comprehensive explanation of how Motiw8 UAB ("Motiw8", "we", "us") processes all media submitted for participation in fitness challenges, including:
- Photos (scale close-up, full-body)
- Videos (verification videos, liveness videos)
- Timestamp screenshots
- Uploaded documents (lab reports)
- Metadata embedded in such files
- AI-generated verification results
- Derived information (OCR results, labels, flags)
This Policy supplements the Privacy Policy and applies to all media used to:
- Verify baseline data
- Validate weekly check-ins
- Validate final weigh-ins
- Enforce challenge rules
- Prevent cheating or fraud
2. Types of Media Collected
2.1 Photographs
We may collect, depending on the challenge:
- Scale close-up photo (showing the numeric display)
- Full-body photo (for consistency verification)
- Selfie or partial face photo (for face-matching)
- Environmental photos (if used to validate timestamp screens)
- Optional documentation photos (lab reports, medical notes)
Photos are captured in-app only using the camera (gallery uploads are disabled).
2.2 Videos
Verification videos (3–10 seconds) are used for:
- Liveness analysis
- Anti-cheat detection
- Face comparison
- Scale reading verification
- Consistency checks
Videos are recorded in-app only.
2.3 Timestamp Screenshots
Users capture a system timestamp screen to prove the evidence was submitted on the correct day.
Accepted evidence includes:
- Screenshot of device home screen with clock
- App timestamp overlay
- In-app auto-generated timestamp frame (coming soon)
2.4 Documents
Certain high-stakes or premium challenges may require:
- Lab body composition results
- Medical weight documentation
- Fitness assessment papers
Lab Body Composition Reports (Premium Challenges)
For premium challenges requiring body fat percentage verification, lab documents must meet the following requirements:
- Official Laboratory Report: Must be an official laboratory report from a certified laboratory
- Required Information: The report must clearly show:
- Full name of the user
- Date of the test
- Laboratory name and contact information
- Measured fat percentage
- Photo/Scan Format: Must be a legible photo or scan of the official lab report
- Unaltered: The document must be unaltered and authentic
- Same Laboratory Requirement: Baseline and final body-fat tests must come from the same certified laboratory using the same measurement method. Different branches or locations of the same chain are not considered the same laboratory.
3. Metadata We Collect
Each media submission contains metadata, including:
Standard EXIF metadata:
- Device model
- Camera settings
- Orientation
- Timestamp
- Geolocation (if enabled — we do not require geolocation)
- File size, dimensions
Generated metadata:
- OCR weight value extracted from the scale
- Detected labels (objects, scenes)
- Moderation labels (nudity, inappropriate content, dangerous content)
- AI flags (fraud suspicion, anomalies)
- Duplicate detection hashes
- Face similarity score
- Liveness score
- Video frame sequence hashes
- Timestamp-match results
EXIF metadata is required to enforce authenticity and detect tampering.
4. Purpose of Media Processing
Media is processed for the following purposes:
4.1 Identity Confirmation
- Ensuring the same person performs baseline and final weigh-ins
- Comparing face vectors
- Matching video identity to photos
4.2 Weight Verification
- Detecting the numeric value on scale display
- Ensuring scale reading is real, unaltered, and consistent
4.3 Timestamp Verification
- Confirming the evidence corresponds to the correct day
- Preventing reuse of old photos/videos
- Preventing fraudulent submissions
4.4 Step Fraud Detection
(For steps challenges requiring video/visual proofs)
- Confirming recorded steps correlate with real activity
4.5 Content Moderation
To ensure the content is safe for moderators and system:
- Detect nudity
- Detect explicit content
- Detect violence
- Detect unsuitable or offensive media
4.6 Fraud Prevention
Media is processed to detect:
- Reused images from the internet
- Manipulated media (Photoshop, edited videos)
- Rapid weight shifts impossible physiologically
- Fake scales
- Scale manipulation (objects on scale, cropping)
4.7 Determination of Challenge Results
Media is used to:
- Approve or reject baseline
- Approve or reject weekly check-ins
- Approve or reject final submission
- Calculate rankings
- Determine payout eligibility
4.8 Laboratory Document Verification
For premium challenges requiring lab documents, media processing includes:
- Verifying document authenticity and legitimacy
- Confirming that baseline and final submissions come from the same laboratory
- Extracting test results (fat percentage) via OCR and manual review
- Verifying that the participant's name matches the report
- Contacting the laboratory if needed to verify the document's authenticity and confirm the participant's identity
Laboratory contact is limited to verification purposes only and does not involve requesting broader medical records.
5. Tools & Technologies Used
Media is processed using a combination of internal systems and external processors.
5.1 AWS Rekognition
We use AWS Rekognition (EU Frankfurt region) for:
- OCR ("DetectText")
- Face comparison ("CompareFaces")
- Liveness analysis
- Detecting nudity/unsafe content
- Object detection
- Video frame analysis
AWS does not retain your images or videos except:
- Face vectors added to the motiw8-faces collection
5.2 Internal Anti-Fraud Systems
Our verification worker uses:
- EXIFValidator
- VideoFrameExtractor
- ScaleOCRComparator
- TimeStampMatchEngine
- HydrationSpikeDetector
- SimilarityHashEngine
- ContentSafetyEngine
5.3 Human Moderation
If automated methods flag a submission as uncertain or suspicious, a trained moderator reviews it manually.
