1. Overview
This Refund Policy explains when and how refunds may be requested for:
- Challenge stakes
- Subscription purchases
- Administrative charges (if applicable)
It applies to all users worldwide.
2. Refunds for Challenge Stakes
2.1 Stake Charges Are Final After the Challenge Starts
Stakes are only refundable under limited conditions.
Once a challenge has started, no refunds will be issued, regardless of participation level.
This ensures fairness for all participants and prevents manipulation or last-second withdrawals.
3. 24-Hour Stake Refund Window
You are eligible for a refund of your stake only if ALL of the following are true:
You qualify only if:
- The refund request is made within 24 hours of the original stake payment, AND
- The challenge has not yet started, AND
- You have not submitted baseline evidence, AND
- You are not currently under fraud review, AND
- You have not been disqualified.
If all conditions apply → Refund Approved
Refunds are processed via Stripe Refund API back to your original payment method. Refunds are always credited to the same payment method you used to pay the stake (e.g. the card used at checkout).
4. Non-Refundable Stake Scenarios
Refunds will NOT be issued if:
- You submit baseline evidence
- The challenge has started
- You voluntarily leave after joining
- You fail to complete the challenge
- You fail or refuse verification
- You are disqualified for rules violations
- Your device fails / technical issues occur
- You change your mind after 24 hours
- You refuse KYC after winning a payout
- You miss submission deadlines (baseline, weekly, final)
Stake amounts contribute to the prize pool once locked.
5. Refunds Due to Challenge Cancellation
If a challenge does not reach its minimum number of participants or is canceled by Motiw8:
- All participants receive a full automatic refund
- Refunds are executed via Stripe to the same payment method used to join the challenge
- No action is required from the user
This is the only scenario where refunds are automatic, regardless of evidence submission.
6. Subscription Refunds (Premium)
Premium subscriptions are processed by:
- Apple App Store (iOS)
- Google Play Store (Android)
Therefore:
- Motiw8 CANNOT issue refunds for subscriptions.
- Users must request refunds directly from:
- Apple → https://reportaproblem.apple.com
- Google Play → https://play.google.com/store/account
Motiw8 cannot override App Store / Google refund decisions.
7. Circumstances Where Subscription Refunds Are Not Granted
Refunds are unlikely to be approved for:
- Forgetting to cancel before renewal
- Not using the app
- Device issues
- Personal circumstances
- Unsuccessful challenges
- Failure to submit evidence
- Having expected a different outcome
Premium unlocks features, not challenge results. It does not guarantee payouts.
8. Administrative Error Refunds
Motiw8 will issue a refund if:
- You are double-charged accidentally
- A technical billing error occurs
- A platform issue causes an unintended stake charge
These are rare and processed manually.
9. Refund Processing Times
- Stripe refunds: 3–10 business days
- Apple refunds: depends on Apple
- Google Play refunds: depends on Google
Motiw8 does not control third-party processing times.
